CUBA CULTURAL CENTER
BRANDING & IDENTITY | STUDENT WORK

The Brief & Concept
An entire package including a logo, stationery, exterior signage, interior and exterior exhibit graphics, banners, a brochure, and information graphics for a cultural institute in Los Angeles was created. The overarching concept was to show the resilience and perseverance of the people.
Inspired by the people's determination regarding their circumstances surrounding the 1962 trade embargo that effectively isolated the nation, an emphasis was also placed on the subsequent culture that arose from the embargo, focusing on local art, music, history, and dance, among others.

Banner Design

Each banner depicts a different time of day in Cuba. From left to right: sunset or sunrise, midday, and dusk or dawn.

The logo was inspired by the juxtaposition of island life and personality with culture. The trombone alludes to many aspects of Cuban culture, symbolizing music, dance, personality, and colorfulness. The flamingo hints at nature, history, flexibility, and composure.
