PROJECT 2:
STOP MOTION
SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISEMENT
The project investigated the use of still images in the creation of animation. A storyboard was created to introduce a product or company on social media. The import of image sequences and time remapping in After Effects were introduced.
The advertisement is for an Italian restaurant. It shows the process of making the famed pizza dish in a fun and playful way with exciting components. In addition, the advertisement helps humanize the company, showing a behind the scenes look at how each pizza is created, right down to the sauce. The music also adds to the mood, playfulness, and cultural aspect. Overall, the goal is achieved through bright colors, varied timing, upbeat music, and dynamic composition.

PROJECT 3:
INTERFACE ANIMATION
analysis
The project goal was to develop an app that would incorporate many common animated features in interface design. A landing screen, scrolling content, pop-up navigation and page transitions. The goal being to utilize After Effects techniques useful for the animating of presentation graphics, information graphics and typography.
solution
The app interface was designed to be playful and enjoyable, like the television network it represents. Many of the shows on the television network are cartoons, so simple illustrations and color palettes are appropriate. The interface allows for the user to select which shows to receive notifications for. The color palette consists mainly of greens, blacks, and whites, to associate it to the shows and to promote Halloween specials. The app is seasonally themed, as its purpose is timing related.

PROJECT 4: TITLE SEQUENCE

analysis
This project is a synthesis of all learned techniques, focusing on typography, transitions, and music. This example includes techniques such as trim paths, time remapping, adjustment layers, PNG sequences of illustrations, various effects and presets, and more.
solution
The title sequence is heavily influenced by video games, a very prominent motif in the movie. This is seen in the typography, 8-bit style, and direct references to quotes from the movie. The visuals are inspired by the music and characters in the movie as well, embodying the loudness and brightness of the music and prominent traits of each actor's character as their name appears on the screen. The transitions are carefully thought out and connect each actor to another seamlessly. The color palette is bright and playful, much like the film itself.
